Students from Agriculture College visit Bhoomi Farmers’ Centre
We were delighted to host around 64 enthusiastic students and 2 faculty members from Aravindhar Agricultural Institute of Technology at the Bhoomi Farmers’ Centre in Tiruvannamalai.
Here’s a snapshot of their immersive learning experience:
Farm Walkthrough:
The visit began with a guided walk through our fruit orchard and vegetable garden. Students got a firsthand look at natural farming practices in action – from mulching and mixed cropping to raised beds and insect management techniques. Seeing these concepts come alive in a real-world setting sparked many curious questions and reflections.
Live Demo of Growth Promoters:
Next, we introduced the students to natural growth promoters such as Jeevamrutha, Panchagavya, fish amino acid, herbal insect repellents, and cow-based preventive medicine. These were shared within the broader framework of soil health and the critical role of microbes in building a living soil and breathing farm ecosystem.
Conversations on Natural Farming:
The visit concluded with a meaningful dialogue around natural farming – especially how soil health is intricately linked to human health. We explored how microbes not only enrich soil by recycling nutrients but also play a vital role in maintaining its long-term fertility and resilience.
It was heartening to see such genuine interest and engagement from the next generation of farmers.
We welcome students from other agricultural and environmental science colleges who are keen to learn about natural farming and experience hands-on, sustainable practices.
