Ragi Banana Date Smoothie

You need very few ingredients to make this healthy ragi banana date smoothie recipe.
Ingredients
- Ragi (finger millet) flour
- Dates - If you use Medjool dates, adjust the quantity according to your preference.
- Banana: should be very ripe to get a smooth, creamy, and velvety texture.
- Almonds: Soak almonds in hot water for 15 minutes and peel off the skin.
- Milk: You can use dairy, almond, soy, oat, or any other type of milk.
- Flaxseeds & Chia seeds: Optional for extra protein, fiber as well as omega-3.
- Ground Cinnamon: adds a warm and slightly sweet flavor to the smoothie.
Instructions
- Add two tablespoons of ragi flour to ½ cup of water. Mix well to ensure there are no lumps.
- In a separate pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil on medium-high heat. Then, slowly add the ragi mixture (slurry) to the boiling water.
- Reduce the heat to low and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring continuously, preferably using a whisk, until the mixture thickens. Turn off the stove, remove the pan from the heat, and let it cool completely.
- In a blender, add cooked ragi mixture, banana, dates, soaked almonds, flaxseeds, chia seeds, ground cinnamon, and milk.
- Grind until smooth and creamy. Smoothie is ready
